The End-of-Life Issues Theme Team is working on tools to help support health care practitioners and family and friends in the care of a dying person. They have developed the "Capacity and Consent (Ontario)" tool, as well as the "PAT - Pain Assessment Tool" and the "What to Expect when Someone Close to You is Dying" informational brochure.

The National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly’s (NICE) End-of-Life Issues Theme Team, in collaboration with the Champlain Hospice Palliative Care Program (CHPCP), Bruyère Continuing Care, the Bruyère Research Institute (BRI) and Pallium Canada, is hosting the 2014 World Hospice and Palliative Care Day Special Lecture at the Auditorium of the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital in Ottawa (43 Bruyère Street, Ottawa, K1N 5C8) on Thursday, December 04, 2014 from Noon to 1:30 PM.
