Elsa Marziali is a Senior Scientist at the Kunin Lunenfeld Applied Research Unit, Baycrest. She is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine. Her research initially focused on evaluating the efficacy of psychotherapeutic models of intervention for persons with severe personality disorders. Latterly, professor Marziali has developed a program of research with a focus on evaluating e-health models of intervention for family caregivers of persons with chronic disease. This research includes the development and evaluation of e-health intervention programs for community dwelling older adults with chronic disease. Her projects have been funded by CANARIE, Bell Canada University Laboratories, Alzheimer Society of Canada , American Alzheimer Association & Intel, and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Recent publications of her work appear in the Journal of Aging and Health, Journal of American Medical Directors Association, Journal of Technology in Human Service, Journal of Gerontological Social Work, and the Gerontologist.
