Veronique Boscart

Veronique currently holds a CIHR Schlegel Industrial Research Chair in Enhanced Seniors Care at the Research Institute of Aging- University of Waterloo and Conestoga College.She began her nursing education and practice career in Belgium and holds a BScN and Masters degree in Nursing Science and a Masters of Education from the University of Ghent, Belgium. Veronique completed her doctoral work at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Drs. Dorothy Pringle and Katherine McGilton. Additionally, her post-doctoral work has focused on 'Knowledge to Action' – and was conducted at the University of Toronto, guided by Drs. Geoff Fernie and Susan Jaglal.

 

Veronique currently hold an Assistant Clinical Professor position with the School of Nursing at McMaster University; an Adjunct Professor position at the School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo, and an adjunct scientist position at  iDAPT (Intelligent Design for Adaptation, Participation and Technology) at Toronto Rehab.

 

Veronique has extensive nursing experience, working as a clinician, nurse educator, manager, and researcher in an international setting. Her research interests are situated in three related areas: the substantive area of evidence based care in gerontology, curriculum development of gerontological education for nurses and other health care professionals, and infection control practices. She has published 25 peer reviewed manuscripts, and is a co-author on the first Canadian edition of Gerontological Nursing and Healthy Aging.
